Volunteering

The Hewitt Band program is supported by our fantastic team of parent volunteers! High School parents/guardians are expected to volunteer for at least three events each year (2 of those events being concessions). Middle School parents/guardians are expected to volunteer for at least two concessions events each year.

Other ways to get involved:

Chaperoning, volunteering for events such as Band Registration, T-Shirt sorting, the Trussville Marching Invitational, and more!

Please download and read our FAQ.

Don't worry - We have fun, too!

We encourage all parents to join us in supporting our band program! Your involvement as a volunteer can make a significant impact on our students' musical journey. Whether you can help with concessions, chaperoning, or other events, every bit of support counts. Together, we can create an enriching experience for our talented young musicians!

We utilize Sign Up Genius for most volunteer needs. Please read below and click the links to sign up to help! Details regarding the event you have signed up for will be sent via email.

Husky Concessions

Our concession stands provide the greatest financial support for Hewitt-Trussville's band programs. It also needs the most volunteers to run smoothly and efficiently.  We open concessions for all Middle School, 9th/JV, and Varsity Football Games. We also open for cross country and outdoor track events in the fall and spring.

Using our SignUp Genius link below, volunteer to work in one of our three beautiful concession stands in our stadium on Husky Parkway! Responsibilities include taking orders, preparing food, and helping to clean up when the event is over.

Parents are required to work 3 volunteer events - two of which are concessions, in order to be eligible to chaperone the spring trip.  You are responsible for signing in when you get to the concession stand in order to get credit for that event.

It is important if you haven't worked before, that you click on Worker Info below for important instructions.

Rock-a-Thon Fundraiser

Friday, July 31 thru Saturday, August 1

The Rock-A-Thon is a 24 hour marathon! The rocking will begin at 11am and end at 11am the next day. We will rock for the first fifty minutes of each hour, then everyone will take a ten minute restroom/stretch break the last ten minutes of every hour. We need parent volunteers to chaperone and assist with setup/tear down of the event. More information on chaperoning Rock-a-Thon is available on the Volunteer page.

 HTHS Marching Band Registration

Band Registration is required for ALL students who play an instrument in the band program. This is when we take care of the important details to help get our school year started. Students will be fit for uniform items, formal wear, order all of their required uniform items, complete the contact/emergency form, and pay band fees. We need parent volunteers to work the various stations. Please sign up below! Thank you for your help!

Marching Band Chaperones

The Husky Marching Band will need chaperones at all home games, away games, and competitions. Details for chaperoning can be found in the Sign Up link, and will also be emailed home prior to each event.

Chaperones are the backbone of our marching band program!

What is TMI?

The Trussville Marching Invitational (TMI) is a band competition hosted by the TCS Band Foundation. TMI serves our music community as one of the finest competitive marching events in the state. We bring in high caliber judges to give quality educational feedback to performing ensembles. We are very proud of the experience we provide as the host school. Our goal is to make this a fun, educational, organized, professional, enjoyable day for all participating bands and spectators.

It takes over 300 volunteers for this event to run smoothly!

TMI 2026 will be Saturday, October 3rd
